Does everyone I split with need to download Payback?
No. Only the person organizing the split needs Payback installed. Everyone else receives a payment request via Venmo, CashApp, or a Payback link they open in their browser — no download required.
How does Payback handle tax and tip?
Payback splits tax and tip proportionally by default — if your food subtotal is 40% of the table total, you pay 40% of the tax and tip. You can switch to an even split before sending requests.
